Auckland to Brisbane - Brisbane Airport
It is a three hour and fifty minute flight when you fly Auckland to Brisbane. However this passes relatively quickly. However flying into Brisbane airport for the beginning of your visit is a great introduction!
Brisbane Airport has two main terminals the International and Domestic. With regional flights operating from the domestic terminal. The two terminals together service up to 33 Airlines. Brisbane is two hours behind Auckland and three in the summer time as Queensland does not have daylight saving.
When flying Auckland to Brisbane, international passengers are allowed to bring 2.25 litres of alcohol and up to AUD$900 in duty free goods. Passengers travelling in economy are allowed to bring 23 kilograms of check in luggage and one carry on weighing 7 kilograms or less, these weight allowances also apply to domestic Australian passengers.
The international and domestic terminals of Brisbane Airport have an Airtrain (train) which links to the Brisbane Citytrain lines which take you to and from the CBD or further a drift to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast. To travel on the Airtrain from the CBD to the Airport takes approximately 19 minutes. Travel to the Gold Coast will take you as far as Nerang and it will take around 90 minutes from the airport. Taxis are also available and will cost around $30 dollars one way to Brisbane city.
Brisbane Airport also has Taxis that are available to take you to your destination. You can also use the Airtrain or Taxis for terminal transfers if you are flying on to another destination, from another terminal. Brisbane Airport international and domestic terminals both have clean, comfortable lounges in which to wait for your flights.
Shopping is also a feature at Brisbane Airport in both terminals, with retail outlets there for your shopping pleasure. There is also plenty of food and beverage outlets for you to sit down and relax and enjoy a meal or a snack. Brisbane Airport provides parking at both the international and domestic terminals. Both terminals have long and short term parking and the domestic airport has valet parking available also.
